Bride and groom at sweet heart table with christmas tree decor

Celebrate the natural warmth and simplicity of Scandinavian decor for a relaxed Christmas time wedding

Introduction

| STYLED SHOOT | Scandi Festive Wedding

Who is ready for Christmas?? WE ARE! And we love it when wedding suppliers come together to create an unique different approach to your Christmas themed wedding day. The team took every opportunity to produce a feeling of warmth within this style shoot. We love the use of the woven blankets turned into table runners, to the Groom's cardigan and the bride's shaw; using snug fabrics to bring a homely, family festive feel into the venue.

Every Scandi Christmas revolves around a traditional tree, so the ceremony aisle was styled so the guests focus was drawn to the wedding couple in front of a screen of spruce trees: all with minimal, twinkling light decorations. A reclaimed wooden sledge and a set of vintage ladders used to embrace the Scandi love of refashioning existing furnishing for the festive season.

And it wouldn’t be Christmas without a nice warm cup of hot chocolate. So, why not give your guests a hot chocolate bar! Where they would be invited to enjoy a warming drink while the bride and groom have fun dancing outdoor in the fading winter light.

“We were inspired to put together a shoot that celebrates the natural warmth and simplicity of Scandinavian decor as a backdrop for a relaxed Christmas time wedding. The wedding set up needed to be full of hygge vibes: cosy and very inviting in all its elements from the food to the clothing to the guest table set up. We wanted to create a contrast to the glitter and opulence of many festive weddings with a wedding setting that used a neutral palette and lots of light sources to create a different sort of magic!”

“A wedding dress that emulated the feel of falling snow seemed like a must! Soft, flowing, and plentiful layers all finished with the perfect back bow. This was paired with a pearl headband and jewellery, simple, stylish and with a hint of festive indulgence.”

”A hint of festive indulgence was also the theme for the cake set up. Three cake styles allowed the couple to offer their guests a nice, sweet finish to their heart warming event. The Kankakee, tower of sweet iced cookie rings, a traditional Swedish celebration, the cookie tower the perfect accompaniment to the hot chocolate and the main focal cake an eye catching delight for the couple to cut.”

“The theme is a Scandi Festive Wedding. Every element therefore had to be simple and hygge: drawing on neutral tones and colours like grey, white and black with lots of evergreen and seasonal foliage. The sea of twinkling lights created using fairy lights and candles, as well as lots of mixed natural fabrics and Nordic birch wood all harmonised to achieve a really cozy look.”

“The flowers were a seasonal mix of Anemones, Ranunculi and spruce complimented by white roses and natural cotton plants buds. Keeping the focus of the flowers to the bridal bouquet achieved a wedding like wow factor for the bride while keeping the rest of the days floral décor focused on the wintery green foliage reminiscent of the the wintery Scandinavian forests. Wreaths dotted around the venue and on the guest tables were a subtle and simple nod to Christmas traditions. Oh, and of course, there was Mistletoe for that fist Christmas kiss as man and wife!”

“The stationery and signage was simple in colour and style while being full of seasonal fun with their playful merge of wedding day and Christmas wording. The black and white envelope lining in a geometric pattern a subtle link to the linen table napkins and the patterned wedding cake design.”
