Katie and Billy

Welcome to the wedding of Katie and Billy at The Pumping House, Ollerton

A pretty pastel pumping house wedding

A mix of luxury and pretty pastel colours with the vibe of two ex holiday reps, we knew this one would be a good one. Katie and Billy wanted to have one great big party! And we don’t blame them. Esp the fact they had to wait 1040 days for it! We all never forget that one holiday that they will always remember (for all the right reasons), so why not have that same feeling for your wedding. An event that will be spoken about for years to come. And not just by the couple but also their guests too. A day filled of surprises, happiness, laughter, booze, dancing, fun, and most importantly-love. Read on for more…

Eye Candy

THE DETAILS

Seeing our wedding vision in front of us after such a long time (cheers covid) really made it all the more special. All of our suppliers truly cared about us, and helped us pull off the most beautiful day. From pretty spring florals, a stunning room set up and a minimalistic cake, our ideas just came to life!

It was also very important for us to honour those that sadly are no longer with us, including Billy’s dad. My gift to billy were some locket cuff links with photos of his dad inside, so that he could still have his dad by his side all day.

Cancer sadly plays a huge role in both our lives. Bills dad lost his battle in 2018, my dad is currently undergoing treatment, and I also work as a nurse on a children’s cancer unit, therefore our wedding favours were cancer research badges which we received in exchange for a donation.

Our wedding photos and video truly reflect the amount of love, joy and laughter experienced on our day, and we couldn’t be more grateful

THE ENTERTAINMENT

Looch the mindreader truly impressed our guests (reactions captured in our wedding video go from confused faces to the occasional WTF)! I had also organised for singing waiters to surprise not just the guests, but Billy too! Billy’s reaction was just comical. One of the waiters started a very awkward speech following the formal speeches, Bill then whispered “Kate, tell Jo to get these f*cking weirdos off the mic now, they’re ruining our wedding!”... and then he caught on(thank god).

We also had our first dance song customised by a friend. It was the acoustic version of the track ‘summer’ by Calvin Harris, mixed together with the dance version. As the beat dropped, we yet again surprised all of our guests with a saxophonist and a percussionist who’s instruments lit up! The dance floor was full all night!

THE ADVICE

  • Enjoy the process, don’t stress and don’t wish for your day to be here too soon! It comes around so quickly, and before you know it you’ll be longing for the planning process all over again!

  • Research your suppliers - it is SO important that you develop a good relationship with them. That way they can truly understand what you want from your day, and deliver it better than you could have ever imagined! Oh-and book early! If you want the best then be organised!

  • Definitely book a videographer! A lot of couples don’t consider booking one straight away, but you 100% should have them at the top of your list. A photo captures a memory in its still form, but a video shows a moment-things you may have otherwise missed!

  • Do your own vows! I have had so many comments from those who attended our wedding, or those who have just watched our wedding video on how special they were! It also gives the bride a chance to vocalise and share her love for the groom!
