Pre Wedding Shoot

Posted by on in I thee wed, News.

OK, so I thee Wed is really meant to focus on a ‘real wedding’ but this time, we thought we’d share with you my experience of what is fast becoming a high priority for many brides to be – mine and Mr Burrows’ pre wedding shoot.

Not one for parading ourselves, Andrew and I were rather apprehensive at the prospect of a pre wedding shoot but our lovely photographer, Rachael Connerton, put us at ease straight away.  From the moment we arrived at West Bridgford Park, we had so much fun with the lovely Rachael and her husband Ian and felt totally natural (which we feel is demonstrated in the result of the fabulous photography).

The big question was which image do we choose for our signature mount on the big day? Possibly not your average ‘couple’ shot, but (after long deliberations) our favourite was the one with either of us sat either side of the park bench; a bit cool and total genius by Rachael.  And, here it is – the winner.

And in case you’re wondering what the rest were like, here’s a few more to give you an idea of Rachael’s fabulous work (she found places for us to sit, lean and lie on which seemed totally off the wall but turned out brilliant so remember to keep an open mind if you’re planning your pre wedding shoot!)  To get in touch with Rachael, call or email ….

Saturday Chic – James White Hair

Having honed his skills in the hot house of the session world, working on photoshoots and fashion shows, James’ inspiration and dedication to his work comes from years of intense practise and experience.

Here, James shares with us the key 2010 bridal trends:

A romantic look: If you’re marrying in a garden setting, a Victorian style gown, or you just want to capture an ultra romantic effect, try a more unstructured hairdo.

Up-and-down: Can’t decide if you want your hair up or down? Try a little of both! Pin up the front half of the head in a simple sweep or more elaborate loops, and let the rest hang down the back.

Chic vintage: Rocking with the vintage feel will require a beautiful and simple style. Try a highly polished chignon in the lower nape of your head or a classic bun.

French twist:
Love the Audrey Hepburn look? Try a classic French twist. Because this style works best with hair in tip-top condition, start deep conditioning treatments well before the big day

Red carpet glam: A basic style can look very sophisticated. Simply work with a soft curl/wave through the hair. For a more glamorous look, create body with backcombing at roots.

Which style do you fancy sporting for your big day?

Big thanks to James for his invaluable advice.

Going to the chapel …

Posted by on in I thee wed, News, Wedding Gossip.

Not only do I run Save the Date magazine and talk weddings all day long with the my lovely business partner Abbi, I've also been planning my own day and believe it or not, that day has arrived. Yep, 28th May is D day or W day should I say so I am officially going to the chapel and gonna get married ....

Yes, I stupidly planned my wedding for the same day as the SATC 2 film release (that's going to be my post wedding blues pick me up film ...)

So, I'll be sure to share with you the ins and outs of the day itself just as soon as I'm back from my honeymoon (BA strike dependent, huff!)

So, see you soon when I will officially be Mrs Burrows :-)

If you're looking for inspiration for your forthcoming wedding you'll find everything you could possibly want at Save The Date, the East Midlands leading wedding magazine. Whether you're planning an unusual wedding, have your heart set on a vintage wedding, or prefer a DIY wedding, Save The Date Magazine is packed full of inspired wedding ideas and money saving tips. One of the magazine's great advantages is a wedding services directory which will assist you in choosing the best suppliers for everything you need. The wedding directory offers ideas for your wedding stationery, the all-important dress and jewellery, flowers, photography and wedding cars. Whether you're looking for a wedding marquee, or a venue just that little bit out of the ordinary such as a stately home or castle, you'll find something just right for your reception. In addition, the directory lists different types of wedding caterers serving hog roasts or haute cuisine, plus wedding entertainment to suit formal or funky receptions. For up to date news and the very latest wedding trends, Save The Date's blog is unmissable. Save The Date also organise wedding fairs and events twice a year in Nottingham and Derby which means that you can meet suppliers face to face and discuss all your wedding and reception ideas. So, congratulations you've made two great choices, your partner and Save The Date Magazine!
